Ms Tan PeiyiSenior Medical Social Worker, Department of Medical Social ServicesSingapore General Hospital
Peiyi is the SGH Peer Support Coordinator and Chairperson of SGH Staff Peer Support Network. She works closely with her committee members in building a culture of mutual care and peer support communities amongst co-workers. Peiyi has been a Medical Social Worker with Singapore General Hospital since 2009. She has counselled patients diagnosed with terminal illnesses on financial issues, treatment adherence and coping with loss of functional and health status. Peiyi works with patients with gastroenterology conditions as well as their substance abuse issues. In addition, she also provides risk assessment and psychosocial intervention to patients who are victims of domestic violence. Besides her clinical work, she is actively involved in training and coordination of training programmes across Singhealth cluster levels.

Due to the challenges imposed on healthcare staff as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been an extremely tumultuous period for healthcare staff; both physically, emotionally and mentally. Peiyi will be presenting on how the SGH Staff Support team supported SGH staff during this turbulent time and also some relevant mental well-being resources for staff.
